Toy Story 4 (2019) – Movie Review

Toy Story 4 is the animated adventure-comedy film directed by debutant director Josh Cooley. The film is the fourth installment in Pixar’s Toy Story series. The film takes Sheriff Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) and other Toys on their new road trip adventure after being given by Andy to Bonnie.

The film follows the journey of Woody finding his place in the world and exploring the real meaning of his existence. This is the 4th film in the Toys series, and everybody knows that the Toy’s only intent is to make their child happy and fulfill their childhood with best memories. Now, what after that, what about the Toys who never get an appreciating child, what if a Toy decides to live for himself and explore the world rather than being at home with a child. So, this film very cleverly delivers this message of living for others, compassion and loyalty, letting go of your past, and then finally living for yourself.

The film has a really good balance of humorous and emotional moments. There are some moments in the film which will definitely melt your heart. There are certain Toy characters which are just total fun to watch, their dialogues, their actions are just amusing. Along with the old Toys, the film also introduces some new ones, which fits perfectly in the story of the film, and even every voice actor has done their job perfectly. The very very talented and Academy Award winner Tom Hanks as Sheriff Woody is the forever favorite toy of everyone, and who can miss any of his performances. The film has given a really beautiful character arc to Woody, and a perfect conclusion to the Toy Story.

Verdict : The extended character driven conclusion to Toy Story is just perfect in every way. A must watch for the whole family.
