Ralph Breaks the Internet is a computer-animated film directed by Phil Johnston and Rich Moore, who has also co-written it with Pamela Ribon, Jim Reardon, and Josie Trinidad. It is the 57th film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and is the sequel to Wreck-It Ralph (2012).
This film sets after six years of the events of its prequel; Since then Ralph (John C. Reilly) and Venellope (Sarah Silverman) have stayed best friends. One day, the owner of the arcade installs a wi-fi router to enable internet connectivity in the arcade, which opens the doors of a whole new world to all the video game characters. A sudden catastrophe in the arcade sets Ralph and Venellope on a quest, which leads them to the world of the Internet.
The film has a very simple and relatable plot, which makes it easy for an audience to connect to it. The film follows the same lovely lead characters on their new adventure. But unlike its prequel, this film sets in the world of the Internet, and that’s where it stands out. I liked the little details the film has used to explain and visualize the Internet. The vocal performances are also enjoyable with enough humor poured all over it. The animation is colorful and vibrant. It is Disney’s first animated film sequel to be created by the original film’s writing and directing team, which makes it a worthy successor. Towards the end, the film becomes a little dragged, otherwise, it is a delight to watch for all the age groups.
Verdict : A joyous and heartwarming sequel that expands its colorful universe and focuses on its lead characters and their relationships. Have a good time.
